Please help the American Cancer Society finish the fight against cancer.
Join us at the American Cancer Society Construction vs Cancer on November 5, 2022 for a unique fundraising event that provides a festive, carnival-like atmosphere amongst construction equipment that benefits the American Cancer Society in their mission to eliminate cancer as a major health issue through research, patient services and advocacy.
Construction vs Cancer empowers the construction community to help raise funds to directly support research, education, advocacy, and services, as well as promote cancer prevention efforts that could reduce children’s risk for cancer later in life. Cancer is the leading disease-related cause of death for children and adolescents ages 1-19 and the 2nd most common cause of death among children ages 1 to 14.
Imagine giving a young child the opportunity to sit in and help operate construction equipment such as a backhoe, dozer, or excavator.
The American Cancer Society is working to finish the fight against every cancer in every community. We are the largest private, not-for-profit funder of cancer research in the United States, investing more than $4 billion since 1946. Thanks in part to our contributions, more than 1.5 million lives have been saved in the US in the past two decades. Now, that is a reason to celebrate, so please join us.
We hope to see you there!
In 2021, there will be an estimated 1.9 million new cancer cases diagnosed and 608,570 cancer deaths in the United States, but there is hope. For more than 100 years, The American Cancer Society has been leading the fight to end cancer. With your support, we have helped usher in an era where more people survive cancer than ever before. By translating our research findings into action, we've seen a 31% decline in US cancer death rates since 1991. This includes a 2.4% decline from 2017 to 2018 – a new record for the largest one-year drop in the cancer death rate. These are just some of the findings from the annual statistics reported by the American Cancer Society (ACS).
